ABOUT US
The C.A.P.T. Organization is a non-profit community serving entity that provides key targeted services to children, families and the community at large—serving primarily the underserved inner-city youth and communities. The services we provide are designed to bring a positive outlet to the youth in these communities but have since been replicated and grown to impact the city of Bridgeport at large.
More specifically, C.A.P.T. believes that children that have a positive outlook for their future and that have the skills to properly navigate setbacks and challenges, will grow to accomplish any goal they set, change their family and have a positive impact on their community.
Therefore, our MISSION is to
Improve the access of low-income families to basic needs and to provide school aged children with experiential learning opportunities that instills a positive outlook for their future.
To accomplish our goal, we provide year-round service in the areas of social emotional based learning, positive youth development programming, community outreach and college/career readiness. In our youth development division, we serve children ages K-12 with age-appropriate programming that develops their character, leadership and civic engagement. In our community outreach division, we provide much needed resources to members of the community including food, basic necessities and referral services. Finally, as our students are getting older, we are excited to launch a new initiative to support our older youth who are transitioning to college and or careers following high school.
